London: A new study has found that the Earth’s inner core may stop spinning and start spinning in the opposite direction. The research, published in the journal Nature Geoscience, says the research will improve understanding of the effects of deep processes on Earth’s surface, including day length. Recent research has shown that Earth’s innermost dimensions are separated from the rest of the Earth by an outer liquid layer. Its magnetic field causes the gravitational effect of the mantle, including the rotation of the inner layer.
