Athens: The Twitter account of Greece’s defense minister on Sunday said it had been hit by a cyber attack that blocked hundreds of followers.
“We apologize to the followers of Defense Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos,” his account said.
“No data or information was intercepted” in the attack, it added.

No details were given on the source of the attack.
Google this week said Russian cyber attacks on NATO countries quadrupled last year compared to 2020.
The attack occurred as Moscow attacked pro-Western Ukraine on February 24, 2022. It is a sign that the Internet war will become more and more conflicts in the future.
