Fires in Milan: at the “L’agricola” farmhouse in Lainate and in a Bartolini warehouse in Milan, Bovisa

A column of black smoke visible from kilometers away in the skies of Lainate, in the province of Milan. It was caused by a fire that broke out shortly after 2.30pm inside the “L’Agricola” farmhouse, in via Rho, which attracted the attention of motorists and residents throughout the Alto Milanese area.

Several fire brigade teams intervened on site and, as reported by ANSA, used three fire engines, two tankers and a ladder truck to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to adjacent buildings. The operations focused in particular on the right wing of the structure, the one where the guest accommodation is located. The priority for the firefighters coordinated by a technical officer was to prevent the fire from reaching the other buildings in the complex, which in addition to the restaurant includes a small market selling local products, an ice cream bar, a dairy and a farm with animals.

The flames damaged a warehouse and part of the roof of one of the buildings. Still to be clarified, however, is the extent of the damage to the structure as a whole and the conditions of the animals housed on the farm, on which there is currently no official confirmation. As for the causes, there is no information for now: the investigations have just started and it will be up to the firefighters to establish in the next few days what started the fire.

A few hours later, around 7.30 pm, in the Bovisa area of Milan, a fire affected a warehouse of the Bartolini freight transport company in Milan, in the Bovisa area, in via Don Giovanni Minzoni 10. Numerous teams of the Fire Brigade and Civil Protection were on site. The Municipality of Milan, shortly afterwards, warned as a precaution “not to stay outdoors and keep the windows closed near the fire”.
