The Poste Italiane Premium Coupon returns with a new series, the TF101A260922in force from 22 September 2026. It is a postal interest-bearing voucher lasting one year which recognizes a 3.25% gross return on maturity to those who pay new liquidity. It is issued by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, distributed by Poste Italiane and backed by the State guarantee.
The window for joining is narrow. In fact, the new liquidity must be provided by 5 November 2026, unless early closure. Those who have fixed sums in their accounts have a few weeks to decide whether to tie them up for 12 months at a fixed rate.
How the Premium Voucher works
The rate is predefined and fixed: by subscribing today you already know the yield to maturity, without surprises related to the markets. The Voucher can only be purchased in dematerialized form, for amounts of 50 euros and multiples, and does not include subscription or reimbursement costs, net of tax charges. Since it is a postal savings guaranteed by the State, the nominal capital is not exposed to stock market fluctuations.
Who can subscribe to it and what is the new liquidity
The voucher is reserved for holders of a Smart Booklet or Ordinary Booklet who bring new liquidity.
The term new liquidity means the sums paid from 18 September to 5 November 2026, net of any withdrawals.
The contribution is permitted only by bank transfer, payment of bank checks and bank drafts, salary or pension credit. The sums transferred to other Librettos or BancoPosta accounts can only be used to purchase the Voucher by transferring them to the Smart Libretto with a transfer.
Taxation and returns
3.25% is a gross figure. A preferential tax rate of 12.50% applies to the interest on interest-bearing bonds, lower than the 26% expected for most financial instruments, and the bonds are exempt from inheritance tax.
Stamp duty is added to this. Vouchers are exempt as long as the value of the voucher portfolio remains within 5,000 euros. Above this threshold, 0.20% per year is applied to the capital, due at the time of reimbursement.
On a payment of 10,000 euros there are 20 euros per year, which the Post Office simulator does not count and which must therefore be subtracted net of interest.
How much do 1,000, 2,500, 3,000 euros make
The net return grows in proportion to the tied amount. On the official Post Office simulator, a payment of 10,000 euros maintained for the entire year accrues 325 euros in gross interest, which becomes 284.37 euros net after withholding tax, for a value reimbursed at maturity of 10,284.37 euros, equal to a net yield of approximately 2.84%.
The table shows the calculation on some typical amounts.
| Amount | Gross interest | Net interest | Net value at maturity |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 euros | 32.50 euros | 28.43 euros | 1,028.43 euros |
| 2,500 euros | 81.25 euros | 71.09 euros | 2,571.09 euros |
| 3,000 euros | 97.50 euros | 85.31 euros | 3,085.31 euros |
| 5,000 euros | 162.50 euros | 142.18 euros | 5,142.18 euros |
| 7,000 euros | 227.50 euros | 199.06 euros | 7,199.06 euros |
| 10,000 euros | 325.00 euros | 284.37 euros | 10,284.37 euros |
| 12,500 euros | 406.25 euros | 355.46 euros | 12,855.46 euros |
| 14,000 euros | 455.00 euros | 398.12 euros | 14,398.12 euros |
Refund before expiry
The voucher can be refunded at any time, even partially for amounts of 50 euros and multiples, without additional costs.
However, be careful at the moment: before the first year is completed you will only receive back the nominal capital without interest, because the interest accrues only if the voucher is brought to maturity.
How to buy a postal voucher
Anyone who has a Smart Booklet enabled for online device services can subscribe to it from poste.it or from the Poste Italiane app. Alternatively you can do it in a post office with your identity document and tax code. For holders of a non-enabled Ordinary Booklet or Smart Booklet, the latter is the only option.
Those interested have until November 5, 2026, unless early closure. Before subscribing, it is advisable to consult the Summary Sheet and the Information Sheet of the series and use the official simulator to calculate the net return on your amount.
