The founders of Satispay, Fatture in Cloud and SOStariffe focus on Billding, the app that monitors bills

They have simplified payments, digitized invoices, and made rate comparisons transparent. Now the founders of Satispay, Fatture in Cloud and SOStariffe have chosen to invest in the problem that comes next, when a supply contract is already signed, renewals are triggered automatically and the conditions change.

Their bet is called Billding, a platform created in 2022 to analyze the bills of families and small businesses. It was founded by Nicolò Sozzi, Alessandro Ferraro and Pinò Surace, three friends with experience in Amazon and Nokia, all three in the Forbes Under 30 Italy 2026 ranking.

Who is behind the investment

The operation, launched between 2024 and 2025 and concluded in December 2025, is worth a total of 530 thousand euros. Among the investors: Alberto Dalmasso and Dario Brignone, co-founder of Satispay; Daniele Ratti, founder of Fatture in Cloud; Giuliano Messina, Alberto Mazzetti and Umberto Lentini, co-founders of SOStariffe and today of Coverzen. With them Alessandro Cillario, co-founder of Cubbit, and Michelangelo Bottesini, International CFO of TeamSystem, former president of ItaliaFintech until 2026. The funds will expand the team, develop the technology and support marketing activities.

It is no coincidence that the founders of SOStariffe chose to re-enter this market. Messina, Mazzetti and Lentini built the main rate comparator in Italy and in 2020 sold it for over 30 million euros to the MutuiOnline Group.

Billing, no more surprises on your bill

Billing works exactly in that blind zone: not the moment you choose a supplier, but everything that happens afterward. If the customer is already paying the right amount, the app confirms it and listens; when the supplier changes conditions or the market moves, Billding alerts him. A topic that is particularly relevant again this autumn, with gas traveling at values that have more than doubled compared to a year ago.

«An entrepreneur does not have to become an energy expert. Our job consists in carrying out that check for them and continuing to do so over time, because a good contract signed today in twelve months may no longer be good”, explains Alessandro Ferraro, co-founder and chief commercial officer.

From a WhatsApp group to 35 employees

The idea dates back to 2021, when Nicolò Sozzi, then Area Manager at Amazon, found himself changing cities every six months and each time he faced the impossibility of understanding whether he was paying the right amount for utilities. He shares it in a WhatsApp group with some friends, which becomes a sort of incubator. A long phase follows double life: during the day in the company, in the evenings and on weekends building the technology, self-financing with their own salaries.

Billding becomes a company in July 2022. Between 2023 and 2024, convinced of the idea, the founders leave Amazon and Nokia to dedicate themselves to the company full time. Sozzi and Ferraro literally take to the streets, door to door to traders, to test the service and find the first customers.

The growth numbers

When the round started in 2024, Billding had a turnover of around 55 thousand euros. 2025 closed at 434 thousand euros, with a forecast for 2026 of around 1.5 million. The team now numbers 35 people between Milan and Catania: in the Sicilian headquarters, in just ten months, 25 people were hired starting from scratch.

In the months following the entry of the new members, the startup was selected by Altroconsumo as an official business comparator, started a collaboration with the National Consumers Union and signed a national agreement with FIPE-Confcommercio. It is accessible from the control panel of Satispay merchants, available among the Qonto integrations and, through Up Day, reaches the employees of the over 30,000 companies that are clients of the welfare programs.

The basic service is free. When the change is convenient, it is made directly from the app – with Billding managing all the bureaucracy, including transfers and takeovers – and the platform receives a commission from the chosen supplier, without this influencing the order of the results. The next goal is to extend the same approach to insurance and other recurring small business expenses.
