These are very intense days for the Italian Ministry of Health which is dealing with many call back from the market of products that present irregularities and that could cause a risk the health of citizens. The latest warning, in chronological order, is linked to the recall of a lot Of capricious salad which is sold under the brand Conad. The basis of the department’s decision is the incorrect indication of the expiration date on the product packaging.
To recognize the capricious salad and avoid the risks deriving from eating expired food, citizens can follow a series of indications provided by the Ministry of Health, such as the batch, the manufacturing plant and other specifications on the product packaging.
Capricciosa salad recalled, the lot
THEcapricious salad object of recall by the Ministry of Health, is sold with the brand Conad in plastic trays from 200 grams. The lot affected by the recall notice is the number 24302while it is necessary to specify the expiry date (conservation deadline). The one indicated on the capricciosa salad packaging is the December 29, 2025, but in reality the product expires exactly one year earlier, i.e December 29, 2024.
The production plant
Another fact to recognize the recalled capricciosa salad is lo manufacturing plant. The product, more specifically, was created on behalf of Conad by the company Santori & Schilirò Srl. The production site concerned is located in Via Garganelli,18- 40065 Pianoro (BO), with the identification serial number which is T 2366 CE.
What should the person who bought the Capricciosa salad do and the risks
Since this is a recall carried out due to the incorrect expiry date of the product shown on the packaging, i risks for citizens they are relatively moderate. Until December 29, 2024 – true deadline for food conservation – the product can be ingested without any problem, with consumers who, as with any other food they eat and cook, will have to avoid going beyond the indicated date. After December 29, 2024, however, the capricciosa salad will no longer be safe to ingest.
Since a recall notice has been published, consumers can go to the point of purchase and, by disclosing their situation, be entitled to receive the reimbursement of the sums spent or the change. In any case, it will be sufficient to show the regular invoice or receipt to the cashier center.
The other warnings from the Ministry of Health
As previously mentioned, the ministry is dealing with a large number of food recalls these days. Some of these have also been updated with new lots. This is the case of the Dop Puzzone di Moena di Predazzo and Moena Dop cheese, within which the presence of Escherichia coli STEC is possible. In addition to the serial numbers already affected by the recall, in the last few hours the ministry has also provided another long list of lots involved: 24080, 24084, 24094, 24099, 24103, 24115, 24124, 24125, 24126, 24132, 24134, 24136, 24138, 24141, 24153, 24157, 24158, 24160, 24161, 24163, 24164, 24166, 24167, 24043, 24044, 24045, 24046, 24047, 24048, 24049, 24050, 24051, 24052, 24053, 24054, 24055, 24056, 24057, 24058, 24059, 24060, 24061, 24062, 24063, 24064, 24065, 24066, 24067, 24068, 24069, 24070, 24071.
And again, we would like to point out the recall notice addressed to a batch of baled Capofreddo marketed by Rossi Srl with a single shareholder in 5/6 kilo packs. The presence of listeria was found within the cured meat, with consumers having to avoid consuming it, as in all previous cases. The lot is number 020125, the expiry date 02 January 2025, while the production plant of the company Fattoria di Rimaggio di Calvo Pegna SS Agricultural company (which produced the cured meat for Rossi Srl) is located in Via Nazionale 2/2 , 52019 Laterina – Pergine Valdarno (AR) (plant number: IT 9/084).
