The Ministry of Healthin its function of monitoring products that put health at risk, has recalled another product. This is an organic tea from the brand Azaconsa.
The risks associated with consumption are once again high. It is no coincidence that in the note you can read the warning of I don't consume and, for supermarkets or points of sale, non-sale and collection. The recalled tea does in fact contain the bacterium salmonella.
Recall for organic tea: high risk of salmonella
With the note of 30 May the Ministry of Health (also present ondedicated app) decided the recall of an organic tea. It is a tea with a particular and uncommon taste, namely “rooibos and basil” of the brand “Azaconsa”.
The manufacturer and identification mark of the establishment is Azaconsa SLwhile the commercial name of the product is Dharma Compost Bio Roo Albahaca. The factory is identified with the acronym NA. To better identify the type of product under recall, you can check the accused batch and the manufacturer's brand: respectively L2350-12/2025 And L2334 and the name or corporate name of the FBO under which the product is marketed, i.e Breskui SRL.
The tea, which has a white and yellow label, has raised alarm bells due to its presence of a bacterium. In particular, as we have already seen for a Tuscan salami, it is the presence of salmonella to have triggered concern about the health risk of consumers. The recall, scheduled for May 30, 2024 for the product with expiration dates of 12/2025 and 08/2025, comes with a warning.
The note reads: “Stop selling/using the product and return it to the person where it was purchased.”
Why the Ministry of Health withdrew tea: what causes salmonella
We have already said it in the past, but it is always worth repeating what the health risks are salmonella. The risk of ingesting food contaminated with bacteria salmonella it is in fact quite serious and can lead to serious health problems. Salmonella is a genus of bacteria that can cause an infection called salmonellosis.
THE symptoms Typical include:
- diarrhea
- fever
- abdominal cramps
- nausea
- vomit
In severe cases, Salmonella infection can lead to complications such as dehydrationsepsis and invasive infections requiring the recovery in hospital.
To prevent the spread of salmonellosis, the Ministry of Health has therefore decided to recall all products that have been contaminated with salmonella bacteria. The recall is a precautionary measure to protect public health and prevent the spread of infection.
Therefore, be careful not to consume the organic tea reported in the recall, as in the cases previously reported, because eating contaminated food can lead to salmonellosis epidemics.
A similar episode happened with some egg, withdrawn last January. Even on that occasion, as the Ministry of Health explained, the symptoms are many and can appear between 6 and 72 hours after ingestion. In most cases, however, the effects are revealed between 12 and 36 hours. The subjects most at risk are children, the elderly, pregnant women, those suffering from sickle cell anemia and those suffering from HIV (in the latter case, recurrent cases of non-typhoid septicemia are also recorded).
