The price of the bill rises of light for users in greater protection. THE’Arera communicated the increases in the cost of electricity For the third quarter 2025 for vulnerable customers, mainly caused by the greater consumption for raising temperatures. According to the update of the energy authority, in the next 3 months the current will cost 1.9% more.
The upward concerns 3 million customer type 1 which fall within the protected market, including:
- Over 75;
- holders of social bonus;
- beneficiaries of the disability law;
- Users of non -interconnected minor islands;
- Users of emergency housing structures.
The Rialzi of Arera
Aretra explained that the increases on the current rate for the next quarter are largely due to the seasonal variation of the prices of the energy market, for the highest costs of electricity due to a growing demand for high temperatures.
Added to this is an increase in costs relating to the ability market as in the summer period (in particular in July) the hours are concentrated when the demand for energy is higher and, for this reason, they are more critical for the adequacy of the electrical system, as well as an increase in economic matches relating to the dispatching service further compared to the supply of resources in the market for this service
Finally, as still explained by the authority, a more contained share of the increase is due to the annual review of the component concerning the coverage of the costs of the operators for the service to vulnerable customers.
The costs in the bill
The reference price of electricity for the vulnerable user will be from 1 July 2025, of 31.12 euro cents For Kilowattora, taxes included.
52.7% of the total bill, 16.41 cents will be represented by Energy supply costsgrowing by 2.2% compared to the second quarter, while 2.24 euro cents will be the cost for retail marketing, in climbs of 8.3%.
No variation Compared to the previous quarter, on the other hand, on the costs of transport and management of the meter and for system charges: 6.28 euro cents respectively (20.2% of the total bill) and 3.13 euro cents (10.1% of the total bill)
The taxeswhich include VAT and excise duties, instead increase by 1.7% to 3.06 euro cents (9.8% of the total bill) compared to the second quarter of this year.

The annual bill
