In recent years, the theme of energy has been the center of attention. What is your vision?
In addition to the challenges of climate change, in recent years we have experienced a period of great instability due both to the geopolitical crisis and the exponential increase in energy costs. All this has shown us a clear reality: we can no longer depend entirely on external energy sources. Focusing on a photovoltaic system today is not only an ecological choice, but a concrete strategy of autonomy, economic security and sustainability.
What is the advantage of installing a photovoltaic system?
Solar energy is a solid response to an uncertain future. In 2018 a Kwh cost about 5 cents. During the energy crisis we witnessed peaks of over 55 cents. Nobody can foresee what will happen in five or ten years. But we know one thing: those who produce their energy is sheltered from oscillations and market speculations.
What are the concrete advantages for those who install a system today?
There are several. First, you get immediate savings on the bill. Then there is the opportunity to accumulate energy thanks to the storage systems, which allow you to use electricity even in the evening or in the moments when the sun is not there. In addition, power supply electric vehicles with solar energy is possible, but not directly: solar energy must first be converted into electricity and stored in batteries or placed on the electricity grid.
So let’s talk about energy independence?
Exactly. Each roof can become a small power plant. It is a decentralized, more efficient and resilient approach. And those who choose this road contributes to creating a fairer, local and clean energy system.
What other advantages can photovoltaics make?
A property equipped with a photovoltaic system acquires value: it is more efficient, modern and attractive on the market. In addition, thanks to state incentives and tax deductions, the return of the investment is quick. And let’s not forget that a well -made system has an average duration of about 30 years, with very low maintenance costs.
How important is the European directive on energy efficiency today?
It matters a lot. The fourth revision of the EPBD directive (Energy Performance of Buildings Directive) of the European Union provides for the energy redevelopment of all buildings by 2050, and the integration of photovoltaics will be an obligatory step. Those who choose to install a system today are in advance of the regulatory obligations and demonstrate sensitivity towards conscious use of energy, as required by European directives.
