As of 2pm today, June 19, the music streaming app Spotify is experiencing malfunctions and access problems. According to data collected in real time by Downdetector (a collaborative portal that monitors the outages of the main online services), reports in Italy spiked shortly after lunch time, reaching 941 at 2.47pm. The same problems would also have been found in other parts of the world, such as the United States, but the downturn seems to have already receded. By 3:02 p.m., reports were already dropping, reaching 464.
In particular, the main problems would concern access to the website, a malfunction reported by 36% of users, to the app (33%) and as well as to the connection to the server (17%). When users log in to play music, the interface displays the message “Page could not be loaded”, as seen in the image below.
In terms of geographical distribution, the situation seems to involve various areas of Italy, with a greater concentration of reports coming from cities such as Milan, Rome, Naples, Bologna, Verona, Palermo and Perugia.

At the moment, the causes of these malfunctions are still unknown. It is important to specify that, in situations like this, reinstalling the app or changing the device settings rarely leads to a solution, precisely because it is an upstream problem, i.e. in Spotify’s central systems. The best thing to do is to monitor the company’s official channels (such as the X profile or website, if accessible) and wait for the service to function properly again.
