1st quarter loss down to $7 million

Boeing announced a reduction in its loss in the first quarter of the year, thanks to a recovery in orders in all product divisions, especially the commercial one, while also working on special projects such as the recent Artemis II mission, which returned man to the Moon.

The key numbers of the quarter

The American big company closed the first quarter with revenues up 14% to 2.22 billion dollars, compared to an estimate of 21.78 billion (LSEG forecasts).

Operating profit stood at 448 million dollars, down 3% compared to 2025. The net result for the quarter shows a loss of 7 million dollars, down compared to a loss of 31 million last year, while the EPS showed a loss of 11 cents compared to 16 cents in 2025. The adjusted unit loss stood at 20 cents, much better than the 83 cents expected (estimate LSEG)+

In the quarter, the US giant reported an operating cash flow of -0.2 billion dollars and a free cash flow of -1.5 billion.

Record orders especially in the commercial sector

The results mainly reflect a higher volume of commercial deliveries and a more favorable order timing. The company’s total order book grew to a record $695 billion, with more than 6,100 aircraft delivered.

Revenue and order growth were driven primarily by the commercial aircraft division, with deliveries of 143 aircraft in the first quarter, up 10% from a year earlier. The division, Boeing’s largest, reported revenue of $9.2 billion, up 13%, despite still posting an operating loss.

Defense revenue increased 21% to $7.6 billion, while services revenue grew 6% over 2025 to $5.37 billion in the first quarter.
