What the Valditara reform consists of
From this summer, Minister Valditara has started a series of significant reforms aimed at enhancing the technological-professional chain in Italy; Initiatives that focus mainly on the creation of training campus and the strengthening of school laboratories.
As for the former, these will be developed according to the “4+2” model: the student, after the middle school, thus enrolled in a four-year period of technical-professional school consistent with the paths of the ITS Academy among which he intends to specialize. To support the start of the project, the Minister issued a public notice aimed at the Regions, allocating 15 million euros-from a specific MIM fund-to the planning of technical-economic feasibility, as part of a total equipment of 35 million euros for the construction of the campus.
Not only that; In addition to the campus, another pillar of the Valditara reform the strengthening of the workshops within the technical and professional institutes, considered fundamental for practical and concrete learning. To this end, a first package of interventions of 124 million euros was allocated to strengthen the schools of the schools already included in the supply chain, with an average of about 258 thousand euros per institution.
In addition, there is a further decree which provides for 210 million euros, as part of the 2021-2027 national program, for the creation of new professional workshops in all technical and professional institutes. The goal is to offer students concrete opportunities to put the knowledge acquired into practice, contributing to the construction of a “school of the future” capable of enhancing the talents and responding to the needs of the world of work.
