Poste Formula Bonus is Poste Vita’s multi-line policy designed for those who want to invest new liquidity from current accounts and deposits held at other institutions.
The strong point of this product is that it recognizes an immediate bonus that can reach up to 5% of the amount paid, making it very interesting for those who have significant sums to invest.
Here is how it works, who it is intended for, how the capital is invested and what the role of separate management is.
What are the main features of Poste Formula Bonus
The Poste Formula Bonus life insurance whose contractual duration is 15 years combines two different investment components: the separate management “Poste Vita Valore Solidità” which offers protection of the sum invested and the “Poste Vita Objective Growth” insurance fund which aims to seize the opportunities offered by the financial markets through greater diversification.
This type of policy aims to create a balance between potential return and stability so as to allow the policyholder to benefit from the characteristics of both components.
If you wish to subscribe to this product, the deadline is July 20, 2026, unless early closure.
Who is it aimed at?
Those aged between 18 and 80 and who want to invest significant sums from current accounts or deposit accounts not held at BancoPosta can subscribe to Poste Formula Bonus.
Up to the age of 69, you also get additional protection, namely Poste Difesa Mia, a serious illness policy provided by Poste Assicura.
The minimum premium requested is equal to 25,000 euros while the maximum amount that can be subscribed is 2.5 million euros.
It is then possible to integrate the insured capital with payments starting from 5,000 euros if made at a post office or 500 euros up to a maximum of 15,000 euros if made online from your reserved area.
How the bonus up to 5% works
The Poste Formula Bonus premium is recognized at the time of subscription, calculated as a percentage of the single premium paid and varies based on the amount invested:
- for payments between 25,000 euros and 49,999.99 euros it is equal to 2%;
- for payments between 50,000 euros and 249,000.99 euros it is equal to 4%;
- for payments exceeding 250,000 euros it is equal to 5%.
The bonus is automatically credited to the policy and invested together with the premium in the component linked to separate management. This means that the invested capital benefits from the increase due from the premium from day one. However, there is a maximum limit of 50,000 euros to the total amount of the bonus recognized.
How does the capital investment take place?
As soon as you subscribe to Poste Formula Bonus, the capital is initially placed entirely in the separate management so as to obtain greater protection and stability: this section is in fact the most prudent component of the investment. Upon expiry of the policy, then, according to the provisions of the contract, at least the premium invested in management is guaranteed, taking into account any switches made, redemptions or other planned operations.
The capital is then gradually reallocated: it means that a part of it is progressively transferred to the insurance fund. The latter in fact has the aim of increasing the potential return of the policy through diversified investments on the financial markets. The value in this case depends on the performance of the financial assets and therefore, unlike separate management, it can undergo positive or negative fluctuations. The policy, therefore, is not limited only to conserving the money but aims at its growth in the long term and for this reason the risk is higher.
How gradual reallocation works
In the months following the signing of the policy, automatic switches are made through which a portion of the capital is transferred from the separate management to the internal fund.
This process can last up to nine months and is defined from the beginning based on the investment combinations chosen by the contractor. In this way, as explained, you enter the markets with your entire capital and on a single date so as to distribute the risk and mitigate the effects of volatility. When the policy is about to expire, the capital is gradually transferred from the insurance fund to the separate management.
What happens in case of early redemption?
In the event that the policyholder requests a partial or total surrender starting from the thirty-first day of the policy and up to the sixth year, a cost corresponding to the bonus received at the beginning is applied. Therefore, if you are not sure whether you will be able to continue with the investment within this period, it may be less convenient to focus on Poste Formula Bonus.
What insurance coverage is included?
Included in Poste Formula Bonus is the Poste Difesa Mia coverage which is valid only for insured persons up to the age of 69. It intervenes in the event that the policyholder receives a diagnosis of a serious illness among those indicated in the contract. In the event of the latter’s death, the beneficiaries can obtain an increase in the liquidated capital with amounts reaching up to 50,000 euros based on the age of the insured.
What are the tax advantages
With Poste Formula Bonus you obtain exemption from stamp duty on the portion invested in branch I.
For the part attributable to this component, inheritance tax is not paid.
Poste’s life insurance policy also gives the possibility to freely designate the beneficiaries in the event of the insured’s death, making it an interesting product compared to other financial instruments.
Precisely for this reason it is perfect if you are looking for a long-term insurance solution that combines tax benefits, investment and protection. However, it is always an investment so the suggestion is to:
- always read the information set carefully;
- compare the product with others on the market;
- evaluate your risk profile.
What are the precise costs?
The issuing of the Poste Formula Bonus contract is free and does not involve additional costs
Decreasing costs between 1% and 0% are applied to the initial single premium, which become lower as the amount invested increases.
You must then bear an annual management fee of 1.40% on the return of the separate management and 1.60% of the total net value of the Internal Insurance Fund (on an annual basis and withheld weekly).
The cost of insurance coverage for the increase in the event of death of the policyholder is equal to 0.10% while the costs for voluntary switch requests are free.
