Growing GDP, shows and construction sites tow the economy in 2025

THE’Italian economy grows and confirms the estimates of theIstat. According to the Institute, the complete estimate of economic accounts for the first quarter 2025 confirms +0.3% of GDP. In the first quarter of 2025, the overall working hours increased by 1% compared to the previous quarter.

The increase is driven by a growth of 0.9% in the construction sector and 1.4% in services, while a drop of 1.7% has been registered in agriculture, silviculture and fishing, and a substantial stability in the industry in the strict sense.

A similar trend also affected the work units, which grew up in the complex of 0.7%. Specifically:

  • +0.9% in services;
  • -1.3% in agriculture, silviculture and fishing;
  • Stability in industry in the strict sense.

The situation in other countries

Istat also analyzes the situation in other countries. In the first quarter 2025, the GDP decreased in the economic terms of the 0.1% In the United States, while 0.1% grew in France and 0.4% in Germany.

In tendential terms, there was a growth of 2.1% in the United States and 0.6% in France and a stationary trend in Germany.

Overall, the GDP of the euro area countries grew by 0.3% compared to the previous quarter and 1.2% in the comparison with the first quarter of 2024.
