The provisional ranking of the solidarity contribution was published today, also known as income of poverty: a 30 million euro measure promoted by the regional government of Renato Schifani and managed by Irfis, the financial institution of the Sicilian Region. Economic support, paid in a single solution, is intended for Sicilian families who find themselves in conditions of economic and social difficulty. Applications were submitted through an online, active platform from 25 February to 15 April. Following the preliminary phase, Irfis published the provisional list of beneficiaries.
Almost 7 thousand families allowed
I am 6,893 the applications that can be financed, with contributions up to a maximum of 5 thousand euroassigned on the basis of specific economic and social criteria. In the evaluation of instances, priorities to families with minors, monogenitor families and those with components in conditions of serious discomfort was given.
Although many questions have reached the minimum score required, 1,418 requests were excluded from the ranking due to the exhaustion of the available funds. To ensure the contribution to these families also it will be necessary to find further resources, estimated at around 1.5 million euros. The regional government has already expressed its desire to take action to identify additional funds, so as to ensure the benefit also to those who, despite having right, have not been able to access it for capacity limits.
“Also on this occasion, Irfis has shown that he is an effective and punctual tool in the service of Sicily – said the president of the Region, Renato Schifani -. The speed with which the ranking was drawn up reflects our will to offer concrete support to families in difficulty. It is our duty to make sure that no one is left behind”.
The requirements to access income
In order to access poverty income, applicants must meet some fundamental requirements:
- be resident in Sicily for at least five years;
- possess an ISEE 2023 of less than 5 thousand euros;
- Return to particular categories considered priority, such as large families, those with minors, monogenitorial or in conditions of serious social unease.
The amount of the contribution varies according to a score table, determined by both the economic situation and the composition of the family unit. The maximum expected amount is of 5,000 euros For those who exceed i 30 points in the ranking; 3,500 euros For those who get Up to 30 points; 2,500 euros For those who totally until to 20.
The scores are assigned on the basis of precise criteria: 1 point for each member of the family unit, 2 additional points for each minor child. To this are added further scores related to housing and social conditions, such as +5 points for those who live for rent and up to +8 points in case of serious discomfort, for example for women victims of violence or widows with children.
