Tim down throughout Italy today 23 January, problems with fixed and mobile internet: malfunction resolved

Today 23 January 2026, the operator Tim recorded malfunctions throughout Italy in the fixed and mobile internet network, both managed by FiberCop: according to the Downdetector portal, the peak of reports was reached around 10.39am, with a total of 2,458 reports. Specifically, 50% of customers encountered problems accessing the internet line from a landline, while 26% reported mobile network malfunctions.

The malfunctions were resolved around 4.30pm.

Since 2024, Tim no longer manages its network infrastructure independently, but uses the FiberCop network, which is supported by other operators such as Vodafone and Iliad which, in turn, have registered around a hundred reports on Downdetector. It is therefore possible that the malfunction was caused by an infrastructure problem.

In terms of geographical distribution, the reports came from all over Italy, from large cities such as Rome, Milan, Perugia and Naples to Modena, Ancora, Lamezia Terme and Catanzaro.

Tim’s last down dates back to December 22, 2025, when malfunctions were also recorded with calls.
