And Light it was. The first electric Ferrari has arrived: it is called Ferrari Luce and it was presented in Rome at the Vela di Calatrava and then also at the Palazzo del Quirinale to the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, in a ceremony that brought together the top management of Ferrari SpA: John Elkann, Piero Ferrari and Benedetto Vigna.
The first deliveries will arrive by the end of the year and the price is 550 thousand euros. For the Prancing Horse this is a historic transition: after decades built around the myth of the V8 and V12, Maranello officially enters the electric era with a car that almost breaks with tradition.
The stock market doesn’t like the new Ferrari Luce
No aggressive lines, no extremely seductive design: the new Ferrari Luce seems more like a hyper-technological product, a digital rendering directly translated into the real world. The mere fact that it has five seats represents a paradigm shift for Ferrari, because it moves the brand away from its more consolidated tradition.
The parent company is enthusiastic about it: the description on the official website is itself an experience. And the Luce boasts hypercar numbers with a completely new technological platform. Nonetheless, the stock market reacted coldly. In short, the hoped for “wow effect” did not occur.
The Ferrari stock, after closing on May 25, 2026 at 309.70 euros, fell to 288.20 euros the following morning before a partial recovery. Those who expected the surge were disappointed: investors do not seem to have welcomed the Cavallino’s electric debut with immediate enthusiasm.
But, as is known, not even Ferrari’s profit which rose to 413 million euros was able to push prices towards the highs of recent months.
Ferrari Luce, the numbers of the electric supercar
Beyond considerations on the design which are completely questionable and beyond the reaction of the stock market, two facts remain: the Ferrari Luce, in terms of performance, remains a very respectable supercar. And it is also a monster of technology that has pushed the creativity and capabilities of Maranello’s engineers to the extreme.
Ferrari Luce declares:
- 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds;
- maximum speed over 310 km/h;
- more than 1,000 horsepower in Boost Mode;
- autonomy exceeding 530 km;
- 620 kW maximum power;
- 800 Volt electrical architecture;
- four independent motors;
- five seats;
- Battery designed to be removable and upgradeable.
Battery and frame
The power comes from a new configuration for Maranello: two front and two rear engines with autonomous torque management. The rear engines reach 25,500 rpm, the front ones reach 30,000 rpm, while the system uses materials derived directly from Ferrari’s experience on the track.
The car was born from 60 patents and kicks off the new course of electric Ferraris. The battery uses a pouch cell system. The battery is designed to be able to be removed and repaired without replacing parts of the main architecture. 85% of the modules are integrated into the floor between the two axles, while the remaining 15% are placed under the rear seat.
The frame is also new: it is the first from the company with 75% recycled aluminium.
The design, at least according to the reactions on social media, has divided. But however you judge it, Ferrari Luce marks the turning point: for future electric supercars it will in fact be the point from which to start and the reference against which to measure oneself. And it’s not just the last Ferrari in terms of time: it represents the first of the electric Ferraris to come.
