Investing 3 thousand euros in the savings book, is it convenient?

Nowadays even a single euro can make the difference that a sum that apparently seems modest as 3 thousand euros can bring some questions arise. Is it convenient to leave it firm on the current account or is it better to look for a way to make it fruitful even if a little? What is certain is that a small savings put aside with so much effort can lose value over time because of inflation.

A safe option to invest without taking any risk are the SUPERSMART offers on the savings book. So here’s how they work.

What are the Supersmart offers of the moment?

Supersmart offers, now called Supersmart depositsare the ideal option for those who want to grow their savings without any risk. To activate them, however, it is necessary to have a Smart booklet which can be registered to a person or joint with a disjointed signature.

Thanks to it it is possible to carry out a whole series of operations such as:

  • see the movements as well as the balance of your booklet;
  • move the money from or towards the booklet;
  • receive wire transfers from a current account in the name of themselves;
  • Buy postal fruits vouchers.

In addition, as mentioned, it is possible to activate the Supersmart deposits that offer a upper rate Compared to the basic one of the booklet which is of the 0.001% gross annual.

The best Supersmart offers are:

  • the Supersmart deposit renews;
  • the Supersmart Open deposit;
  • the Supersmart Young deposit;
  • The Supersmart pension deposit.

Supersmart storage renewed

To make your own money already set aside in the past, you can choose the Supersmart storage renewed. It can be activated by those who in the past used the SuperSmart Premium offers, exactly those at 366 or 540 days which expired last April 1, 2025.

It works in this way: the hard deposit 540 days (about 1 year and a half) but it can be stopped when you also want for a single part of the money.

The minimum that is awaited in these offers is 500 euros but you can also add more money as long as it is multiple of this figure, therefore 550, 600 euros and so on.

At the end of the 540 days, then a gross annual interest rate of interest is recognized1.75%. However, if the money is withdrawn before the deadline, the basic rate of the Smart Savings Booklet is recognized which, as mentioned, is 0.001%.

Here is an example:

Giacomo had deposited 1,000 euros in an old premium offer expired on April 1, 2025. He may move this money to the Supersmart deposit renews that after 540 days he will make it 1.75% gross per year. If he leaves everything until the end, he can then count on a small gain.

Supersmart Open Deposit

As for postal fruits, there are various Supersmart offers on the postal booklet and one of these is the Open. Its main characteristics are as follows:

  • lasts 360 days;
  • At the end of the provision period, it offers a gross interest rate of 1.50%;
  • You can start setting aside a figure starting from 500 euros and multiples of it;
  • It is possible to deactivate the offer at any time even before the deadline but in this case the full interest is not received.

Just as the other offer this is also activated only by those who are at least 18 years old and a smart booklet registered. It has no extra costs except those provided for by law and there is the possibility to control everything online on the official post office or the app. Alternatively, you can obviously also go to the post office for information.

SuperSmart Young deposit

Among the Supersmart offers of the moment, the one that offers the highest interest rate is certainly the one called SuperSmart Young deposit. Thanks to it it is possible to put aside your money safely because it is guaranteed by the Italian state and make it grow in only 180 days.

For activation it is necessary:

  • set aside at least 500 euros;
  • If you want, you can then add multiples of 50 euros, for example 550, 600, 650 euros.

At the end of the 180 days, finally, a gross annual interest rate of 2%. If the money should serve before that date, the provision can obviously be canceled but in this case the basic rate of the smart booklet currently currently in force will be applied.

Supersmart pension deposit

The solution designed for those with an INPS pension that is paid directly on the Smart booklet is the Supersmart pension deposit. Since last April 14, Poste Italiane has communicated that this type of offer can however be activated only by those who own a mono -marked booklet or disjointed signature.

The main characteristics of this deposit are that lasts 364 days and that offers a gross annual performance at the deadline of 2%. Just like all the other offers, then, it is signed with a minimum amount of 500 euros which can then be increased subsequently for multiples of 50 euros.

The constraints are deactivable at any time but in this case the basic rate of the smart booklet is applied for the actual provision period.

How to deactivate the provisions

It is possible to deactivate the provisions whenever you want both partial and totally, before the natural deadline. As for partial deactivation, it is allowed:

  • for a minimum amount of 50 euros and multiple of this figure;
  • The residual amount of the provision, however, cannot be less than 500 euros in the case of Supersmart deposits and 1,000 euros in the event of Supersmart offers.

If you opt for deactivation, we repeat, on the sums that had been set aside, the rate of the smart booklet currently currently in force or 0.001%will apply. To carry out this operation, you will have to access the post office site with your credentials or go to a post office.

How much do you earn by investing 3,000 euros?

Thanks to the simulator made available by Poste Italiane it is possible to calculate the performance of the various Supersmart offers in real time on a saving booklet so as to choose the one that best suits your needs. If you want to invest 3,000 euros, net interests would be as follows:

  • 57.48 euros if you opt for the Supersmart renewal (540 days, rate 1.75%);
  • 32.84 euros if you choose the Supersmart Open (360 days, rate 1.50%);
  • 21.90 euros for the Supersmart Young (180 days, Gross Tasso 2%);
  • 44.28 euros for the Supersmart pension (364 days, rate 2%).

Posta explains that these interests are however paid only if the provision is brought to expire. The latter, moreover, are determined by applying the withholding tax in force and are gross of stamp duty.
