The Italian Ministry of Health has recalled from the market a salami for the risk of salmonella and listeria monocytogenes linked to its intake by consumers. The product in question is the local salami with garlic/without garlic which is sold in Italian supermarkets under the brand Trentin. In the notice published on 4 November, the Department of Health urges citizens not to eat the product, with the same being able to be recognized through the lotit manufacturing plant and the expiration date. Owners can also get an exchange or refund.
Recalled local salami, the lots
The local salami with garlic/without garlic object of recall of the Ministry of Health is on the market with the brand Trentin and is sold in pieces weighing 600 grams each. As reported in the recall notice in the specific section of the Ministry of Health website, the product was created by the company Salumificio Trentin in the factory located in Via 4 Novembre n. 14, Cerea (VR).
The reasons for the recall
As previously mentioned, the basis of the recall of the local garlic/without garlic salami from Trentin is the presence in the food of salmonella And listeria monocytogenes. Going into more detail, the Department of Health found:
- salmonella S. Brandeburg in 25 grams in a sample unit by microbiological method;
- listeria monocytogenes in 25 grams in a sample unit by microbiological method.
