The increase in bus prices in Bologna is a coincidence, they are the dearest tickets in Italy

Increase in prices for public transport a Bologna. The cost of the single ticket passes from 1.50 at 2.30 Euro, while the City Pass from 10 races salt from 14 to 19 euros. The modification was announced by the mayor Matteo Lepore during a press conference at Palazzo d’Accursio. The daily ticket also undergoes an increase, going from 6 to 9 euros.

The price of tickets rises

Public transport tickets in Bologna will undergo a significant increase, with an increase of 53.3% for the single race, which will go from 1.50 to 2.30 euros, 50% for the daily ticket (from 6 to 9 euros ) and 35.7% for the City Pass from 10 runs (from 14 to 19 euros). This is only the last of a long series of increases: in the last fifteen years, the price of tickets in Bologna has increased in about 130%in the face of a national increase in the consumer price index of about 30% in the same period.

The first increase dates back to the commissioner Annamaria Cancellieri, which set the ticket price for 1.20 euros. Subsequently, Mayor Virginio Merola increased prices in 2013 and 2019, bringing them to 1.30 and then at 1.50 euros. Finally, the mayor Matteo Lepore announced the last increase, making Bologna the city with the cost of the highest ticket in Italy. An increase that comes a few months after the one on the tourist tax for the Jubilee.

Increases also for the stops on the blue stripes

The Municipality of Bologna has also provided for an increase in the rates for the stop in the city center. Starting from May 2025, the time rates for parking on the road will undergo an increase in the different areas of the city. In the semi -peripheral crown, the rate will pass from 1.20 to 1.80 euros; in the semi -concentral area from 1.50 to 2.20 euros; in the historic center from 1.80 to 2.90 euros; and in the circle of the thousand from 2.40 to 3.90 euros.

Not only that: starting from 1 January 2026, new measures will be introduced which will limit access to the historic center for Hybrid car. In particular, the hybrid vehicles of non -residents will no longer be able to enter the ZTL, while the residents will continue to have access, but they will have to pay for the stop, which so far was free, both in the center and in the other paid areas of the city, except of one’s residence area. This decision is due to the significant increase in hybrid vehicles, which went from less than 18 thousand in 2019 to about 30 thousand in 2023, with an increase of 66%.

The non -resident vehicles that will no longer be able to enter the ZTL are 10,259, while those of the residents who will continue to access by paying the stop are 19,530. Current permits will expire at the end of their natural validity. The new marks for hybrid cars, issued after May 1, 2025, will have annual duration. Residents in the historic center will continue to park for free in their parking areas.

News also for i methane vehicles or LPG of the residents in Bologna and Emilia-Romagna, who currently pay a discounted stop by 50%, but from May 1, 2025 they will have to pay the entire amount. The vehicles involved in this measure are 12,419, an increase of 56% compared to 2019. Electric cars, on the other hand, will continue to have access to the ZTL and park for free in the whole city.
