What it is and how it works Poste Valore Bonus Tuo, the policy with an advantage of up to 4%

Poste Valore Bonus Tuo is an insurance product designed for those who want to protect their savings without exposing themselves too much to market risks.

Its strong point is the recognition of an immediate bonus, between 1% and 4% from the day after signing up, which can be a good solution for those who have firm savings and want to use them without waiting too long to see the first benefit.

So here’s how it works and who it’s aimed at.

What Poste Valore Bonus Tuo is and how it really works

Poste Valore Bonus Tuo is a Class I life insurance policy designed for those who wish to protect their savings over time, guaranteeing reimbursement of the amount paid upon maturity.

The operation is simple: the contractor pays a single premium, starting from 25,000 euros which is invested in the Poste Vita Valore Solidità Separate Management. After 15 years, at least the invested capital is then returned, net of any redemptions and the recovery of the initial bonus.

How the 1 to 4% bonus works and when it is credited

Among the main features of Poste Valore Bonus Tuo is the initial bonus between 1 and 4%, recognized the day after the policy is issued.

The percentage varies based on the amount of the single premium paid. It means that the higher the amount invested, the higher the bonus. The amount is then paid according to the payment method indicated, which can be a BancoPosta account, a postal passbook or a cheque.

The bonus, however, is linked to the duration of the investment. It means that if the contract is interrupted before the sixth year by withdrawal or early redemption, the sum received is recovered. The initial advantage, therefore, is fully maintained only if the policy is continued over time.

Is Poste Valore Bonus Tuo worth it compared to other investments?

Poste Valore Bonus Tuo is placed in an intermediate position between investment and insurance so as to offer a combination of security and tax advantages. On the one hand it guarantees the capital at maturity and on the other the initial bonus which is an interesting element compared to the gradual returns of other instruments such as deposit accounts or government bonds.

The final return, however, is not fixed as it depends on the Separate Management and the costs envisaged in the contract. It is therefore not an ideal product for those who aim to maximize returns but for those who favor stability.

Who can subscribe to Poste Valore Bonus Tuo

Subscription to Poste Valore Bonus Tuo is open to all adults up to 85 years of age who want to invest savings coming entirely from deposit accounts or current accounts not present at Poste Italiane Spa.

For those aged between 18 and 69, Poste Vita offers a policy for serious illnesses, called “My Protection Post Office” For:

  • malignant tumor;
  • cerebral stroke;
  • motor neuron disease.

The above policy can then be integrated with the Poste Vivere Protetti Investment Protection Line. However, you must sign the form “Severe Illness Plus”.

Coverage gives the possibility of receiving financial compensation. This will be equal to the percentage chosen and indicated in the policy, equal to 25, 50 or 75% of the premiums paid for the insurance investment product subscribed to with Poste Assicura.

Where to sign up for the policy

The Poste Valore Bonus Tuo policy can be purchased at a post office by bringing with you your identity card or a valid identification document and your tax code.

However, it is necessary to make an appointment with a consultant from the Poste Italiane app or from the company’s official website. Alternatively you can call the number 06.45264526 from Monday to Saturday from landline or mobile from 9am to 8pm, excluding holidays.

What is the minimum guaranteed performance?

Upon expiry of the policy, Poste Vita ensures the return of the capital invested in the Separate Management which is calculated taking into account any redemptions made during the duration of the contract and any recovery of the bonus.

It may happen, therefore, that you do not always receive a higher amount than that paid as the result depends on the management performance and the costs applied over the years.

This logic also applies in the event of early withdrawal: the invested capital is always guaranteed and at the same time the costs foreseen by the contract are deducted.

However, Poste can request a refund of the bonus if the exit occurs before the established period.

Finally, if the insured dies, the policy provides for the repayment of the capital paid, taking into account any operations already carried out and any bonus recovered.

What are the main costs to be incurred?

Nothing is paid for issuing the Poste Valore Bonus Tuo contract.

The costs on the single premium and on any additional payments are between 0 and 1% and decrease based on the amount you decide to invest. The higher the deposit, the lower the percentage that is applied.

There is then an annual commission of 1.30% deducted from the performance of the separate management.

In the case of total or partial redemption made between the thirty-first day of subscription and the sixth annual anniversary, a cost equal to the initial bonus received is applied.

If the redemption is total, the recovery of the bonus is subtracted from the final amount while in the case of partial redemption the cost is applied only to the residual part of the policy. Finally, from the second partial redemption request, no cost is applied.

Tax advantages and prescription

Poste Valore Bonus Tuo benefits from exemption from stamp duty while taxation on capital gains is applied only at the time of settlement of the contract.

There is also exemption from inheritance tax and the contractor can indicate specific beneficiaries in the event of death with the possibility of excluding the sums from the inheritance.

Finally, as regards the limitation period, it occurs 10 years after the expiry of the contract or the death of the insured, as provided for in article number 2952 of the Civil Code. If the sums are not claimed within these ten years, they are transferred to the Dormant Relationship Fund established at the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

How does withdrawal work?

You can withdraw from the contract within thirty days of signing.

To do so, however, you must send a request complete with the required documentation in the following ways:

  • at the post office that manages the policy;
  • by registered mail with return receipt to “Poste Vita SpA – Liquidations, Viale Europa 190, 00144 Rome”;
  • via certified email at [email protected].

If a withdrawal request is made, Poste Vita returns the premium paid within thirty days of receiving the request, net of any taxes and bonuses already recognized. The credit is then credited to the postal savings account used or to the BancoPosta current account.

If you have neither, a postal check will be issued.
