Bauli Christmas sweets recalled due to undeclared allergen, batches and risks

There is a new warning from the Ministry of Health that Italian consumers must pay attention to. More specifically, the ministry reported the precautionary recall from the market ordered by the Bauli company regarding Christmas sweets filled with creams and chocolate sold under the name Cremino and Budino. What drives this decision is the possible presence in foods of allergens not declared on the accompanying label: these are traces of the peanut allergen. To recognize the products, a series of details have been provided that can be very useful to consumers, from the batches, to the expiry date up to the production plant.

Bauli Christmas sweets recalled

THE Christmas sweets recalled by the ministryas mentioned, are present in supermarkets with the brand Trunks and bear the name of Cremino And Pudding. They are sold in packs of 750 grams, while the lot object of the recall corresponds to the serial number LT451V. As for the storage deadline or expiry date (Tmc), corresponds to 30 April 2025.

In addition to the aforementioned elements of recognisability of the Christmas sweets Bauli subject of the recall, consumers can carry out a further check by checking the establishment of food production. This is located in via Verdi 31, in Castel d’Azzano, in the province of Verona.

What should the person who bought the product do?

If, following an inspection, consumers realize that they are in possession of the recalled product, they must, first of all, avoid consuming it. This recommendation obviously applies to people allergic to peanuts, while it does not concern all those who are certain that they do not have problems with the food in question.

There is also the possibility of obtaining the reimbursement of the amounts spent or the change of the recalled Christmas sweets. In this case it will be sufficient to go to the point of purchase and explain your situation to the cashier, taking care to show the regular sales receipt or invoice.

It’s not the only Bauli product to pay attention to

THE Cremino Christmas sweets And Pudding they are not the only products of Trunks on which recall or withdrawal notices have been placed. In recent days, in fact, supermarket chains Coop And Deco had taken steps to withdraw Bauli’s Profiteroles cake from the shelves, again due to the undeclared presence of the peanut allergen on the label. The batch of this product sold in packs of 820 grams is LT452Vwhile the Tmc is set for April 30, 2025. This decision arrived last December 10, with the Ministry of Health which however included the recall only in the aforementioned Cremino and Pudding notice.

Bauli’s statement

Following the action taken by the supermarkets regarding the Profiteroles cake, the Bauli company expressed itself in a statement as follows: “the recall of the product is due to the report received on 10 December from a supplier who informed us about the potential presence of trace allergens on some batches of raw material. As it is foreign to our production, this allergen is not declared on the label. Therefore the company acted promptly, implementing all the procedures required by current regulations with a view to maximum responsibility and transparency”.
