The Italia Moda Plan will have to respond to the needs of the supply chain, between transition and growth of the sector. This is the result of the dialogue with the main representatives in the sector: a path that began in January 2023 and which materializes with measures to support the Made in Italy fashion.
At Palazzo Piacentini, where the Minister of Business and Made in Italy Urso chaired the national fashion table, there was also talk of the current negotiation on duties. “These are decisive hours, we do not give up on those who already evoke retaliation measures. The commercial war must be averted,” he comments. For the fashion sector, in fact, a failure to understand would have serious repercussions.
The Italia Moda Plan: the objectives
37 Technical meetings, 5 meetings of the fashion table and works that lasted over a year and a half to pack a Plan for the fashion sector. A work that led to a legislative device for the certification of the sustainability and legality of the supply chain and measures to support the design and the realization of the new samples.
A picture aimed at safeguarding and supporting the fashion sector, but also to make it grow during a phase of important transition. Urso explained:
The Italia Moda Plan responds to the need to consolidate the supply chain of SMEs and craftsmen, a strategic priority for Made in Italy, in the belief that needs to support growth and aggregation to strengthen its competitiveness, cohesion and continuity.
Made in Italy fashion measures
To pursue these objectives, a series of Measures for relaunch of the fashion sector in crisis. Among these:
- Development contracts;
- mini-development development;
- Central guarantee fund for SMEs;
- New Sabatini;
- Tax credit artistic conception.
And a series of measures to accompany the ecological and digital transitionfor example through the enhancement of the chain of natural textile fibers and from recycling processes.
Then there are the objectives to combat the offenses, which harm the reputation of the sector. An example in this direction is the certification of legalitywhich passes through ad hoc preventive checks on the brand and all its supply chain.
Tax credit for design
To support the design and implementation of the new samples, however, it was decided to aim for the drafting of an updated edition of the tax credit. This should amount to 250 million euros.
With regard to social safety nets, the approval of the decree-law for the EExitted for layoffs Throughout 2025 for artisan companies with a maximum of 15 employees.
Towards a more green Italy fashion
Finally there is the aspect of low environmental impact production. The technical table examined the European requests on the matter and a decree was confirmed for the introduction of the extensive liability of the manufacturer.
The decree must still be completed, but should allow companies to reduce the environmental impact of the production and management of waste from textile products. At the same time, it will encourage reuse, recycling and correct disposal.
All this responsible for the producers, because they will adopt Eco-Design strategies and use more sustainable materials.
