The Mediterranean diet: what it is, what it consists of and what are the health benefits

The foods statistically most consumed in the Calabrian city of Nicotera were in fact similar to those found on the island of Crete and in the rural cities of Dalmatia, and were therefore used as reference for the identification of “Mediterranean diet”.
